Gavin Busch

Gavin Busch

Gavin gained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Auckland in 1999, majoring in Economics and Financial Accounting. He has also completed his Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Personal Financial Planning) through Massey University. Gavin is a Certified Financial PlannerCM Practitioner, a member of Financial Advice New Zealand (FANZ) and the New Zealand Trustees Association.

Gavin is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA), FSP 7061. This was presented to him at a formal ceremony in December 2010 acknowledging the first AFA’s in New Zealand.

Gavin has extensive experience, working as an adviser at NZFP, as well as New Zealand based and overseas managerial roles, where he learnt how to provide specialised retirement planning, investment advice and risk management here in NZ. He says this experience has taught him the importance of forward planning, relationship building and competent financial management.

On a personal level, Gavin believes that the decreasing financial support provided by the Government and the increasing awareness among the community that you must provide for yourself has led to the retirement issue becoming ever more complex.

Gavin is married with two daughters and a son and lives in Devonport on Auckland’s North Shore. He is a current member of the Takapuna Rotary Club and a past-President of the Devonport Rotary Club. His interests include fine wine and dining, along with outdoor pastimes such as fishing, diving, tramping and hunting.
